A one day Health Services Quality and Safety Conference is being organised for Thursday 13th May, 2010. This conference will be held in Dr. Steevens' Hospital, Dublin and will also be delivered through the innovative mechanism of Webinair technology to ten regional centres across the country. The Webinair venues will be in Cork, Donegal, Galway, Kerry, Kildare, Kilkenny, Limerick, Louth, Sligo, Offaly and Waterford. For full details about the conference programme please click here

The theme of the conference is "Integration: People at the heart of service delivery/governing through integration for safer quality of services". The conference will focus on the important topic of integration in a practical way. It will examine how integration can inform a safer quality service and environment for service users and service providers.

Keynote speaker: Dr. Barry White, National Director, HSE Quality and Clinical Care Directorate
Discussion Chairman: Mr. John Bowman

A number of case studies will be presented which highlight some health service failures. A panel discussion will focus on the main aspects of these system failures.

Speakers from the panel will discuss ways in which learning from these mistakes can be translated into quality improvement and better outcomes for both service users and service providers.

Regional Venues
Each regional event will have its own programme in addition to the main conference programme. Poster presentations will be a feature of each regional programme. All Health Service staff are invited to submit an abstract for consideration for display at the regional venue of their choice. See Call for Abstracts
